Program Manager and Volunteer Coordinator-
Sister Friends Tallahassee Birthing Project
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for, data collection and report preparation; recruiting, training and supervising the community volunteers; identifying, assessing and assigning pregnant teens/women to their volunteers; and maintaining relationships with community providers and organizations.
· Recruits and trains volunteer “sister friends”.
· Supervises, motivates and supports volunteers who are responsible for providing emotional and practical support to expectant moms on a one-on-one basis.
· Conducts initial home visit to assess needs of expectant mothers, and additional home visits as needed including postpartum visit.
· Maintains client records in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
· Maintains liaison with community organizations, health and social service agencies and other appropriate entities.
· Provides assistance to families for a variety of social services.
· Provides support and assistance to volunteers.
· Establishes and monitors a tracking system for prenatal/postpartum visits and well baby visits including immunizations.
· Coordinates (with volunteers) community services including but not limited to, Section 8 Housing Programs, churches, day care and respite programs, employment training and continuing education programs, referrals to shelter, alcohol and drug treatment services.
· Organizes and oversees baby showers, monthly meetings and other related group events.
· May assist in other community events.
· May develop print material and presentations to be shared with the community.
Participate in other CAHSC initiatives and programs. This may include, but is not limited to:
· Participate in conference calls, community meetings, and community events.
· Attend trainings as required.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or related behavioral health field. Experience in working with families with young children is strongly recommended. Experience working with diverse communities, organizations, and agencies preferred. Strong communication and writing skills are required. Must have driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Compensation: $26,000
