The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."-1 Samuel 16:7
My husband and I are members at a church in Tallahassee, Florida called Red Hills Church. We were invited to this church by my former co-worker, Justin Hall, in late 2017. The following Sunday, Louis and I went to visit. We immediately felt Christ when we stepped foot inside the church. The worship, the delivery of the Word, and the demeanor of the atmosphere were truly humble. I remember sitting in my chair weeping. We felt we had found our place.
Home.
Well, we have been members for over two years now. Louis and I are the only black married couple at Red Hills Church currently. We are definitely the minority. Some people think that is strange. However, Louis and I don't. We see the heart. We realize that it's not what you look at. It's what you actually see.
Lou and I have sat in many church services throughout our lives. However, before this past Sunday, we had never heard a sermon like this. I encourage you to stop what you are doing and listen. Put the phone down—actually, put it on silent. On second thought, turn it off. Prepare to receive a word in due season.
I pray that this word blesses you the way it blessed me and my husband, Louis Dilbert.
Take a look at last Sunday's message, where Pastor Marshall Ochs preaches about walking in forgiveness and how that applies to this hour in America:
